SAND FACED FINISH
As the name suggests, this sand faced finish is made using a layer of cement-sand mortar that is applied directly over brickwork. The sand faced finish effect is achieved by using a sponge to expose the sand grain.
ROUGH FACED FINISH
This contemporary plaster finish is often used in conjunction with a more rustic interior. This type of plaster is used by combining cement, sand and a small aggregate mix to create a layered, textured finish.
ROUGH CAST FINISH/DASH FINISH
A popular choice for exterior walls since the 1920s, roughcast finishes consist of a mixture of lime and cement to make a coarse and layered finish.
PEBBLE DASH / DAY DASH FINISH
Very similar to roughcast, pebble dash finishes use the same lime and cement mixture but combine this mixture with peddles or stones to make a unique and extremely popular exterior plaster finish.
SCRAPED FINISH
Scraped plastering – sometimes referred to as scratched render plastering – gives properties a textured and layered look.
